Walking in the Wilderness of Tierrasanta
Apr 23, 2024,23:49 PM
We drove towards the NE corner of San Diego today, in the direction of Lake Poway (Ring Around the Reservoir) two weeks ago, but not as far out. Even though we were closer to the city proper, we were still in a bit of wilderness. We went to a pond, then up and over towards the east (see below).
Down between those hills is Mission Gorge, through which the San Diego River flows west to the ocean. We walked in this general region before on colder days a few years ago (
Frost on the Fairways) and
(Sunlit Sycamores) but never up at this remote corner.
I was astonished at the number of single women walking alone with ear buds in and completely oblivious to their surroundings. Well, I guess the mountain lions have to eat something.
We saw the usual array of flora and fauna:
but as we trudged up the last hill, panting and puffing, I realized if we had been doing all these walks on YouTube, we'd be influencers and getting many thousands of hits, new clothes and free walking shoes, possibly even watches to wear as promotional items?
However, I am too lazy to be a video editor.
So just to give you all a change of pace, I fed the images into Photos, cranked out a 5-minute slideshow, put it on YouTube, and here it is for your viewing pleasure.
Please let me know what you think (but don't click subscribe, don't hit the bell or whatever).
