Long time Purists member was in Japan recently and we spent the day acting like tourists. I am sure many of you are aware his beautiful bird photographs as well as his knowledge and technical ability. I love his photos and his passion for birding... Not t...

I agree, looking with a different eye or as-if with a new eye is sometimes a good approach.

I don't know if it's a will or not but in the Ginza shot I feel something "strange". Everything (people, cars, buildings, ground...) has almost the same hues with only black, white, slight brown and grey colours. I can feel a real uniformity. Best wishes ... 

both photos are under saturated by design. It may sound strange, but if I had to choose one it would be Ginza - the first photo. Maybe because I feel I could do the Shibuya (cityscape) shot again - which in reality I can't, while the Ginza composition is ... 

I like the second one best, showing the colorful as well as the behind the scene (infrastructural) Side of Tokyo. Thank you for sharing Casey. Best Regards Edward

It's the other side of Shibuya Station from the zebra crossing and Hachiko... We were in the Hikarie Building, which is relatively new and has many restaurants on the upper floors... that part of Shibuya has been under construction for 15 years or more...... 

...in 2014 that side of the station was completely torn up and undergoing an extensive remodel. We were told that in addition to the usual upgrades, it was being expanded to accommodate the anticipated influx of tourists for the 2020 Olympics. Despite the...
