I was faced with either a more angled upward looking shot, or flatter forward looking one. I'm glad I chose the angled upward perspective. Thanks for your comments!

As too much above and you get the intrusion and disruption of a modern skyline. This tighter crop maintains an ancient purity while still giving a sense of depth and massiveness. Thanks for your encouragement!

I was out for an early morning exploratory walk and happened on the wall. I didn't expect it, and more, I didn 't expect to be able to go up on top! Everything fell into place, literally and figuratively. Thanks for making it the masthead! TM
